Skill 3 · Dead reckoningProblem 93005
Two legs from a 1050 fix: where is the 1125 DR?
At 1050 you fix your position 237°T, 2.5 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 332°T at 5.1 kn until 1110, then 172°T at 7.5 kn until 1125.
Give the 1125 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.
Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
