At 1445 you fix your position 241°T, 1.0 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 113°T at 4.8 kn until 1515, then 259°T at 8.7 kn until 1555.

Give the 1555 DR position as the true bearing FROM Mill stack to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
