At 1045 you fix your position 075°T, 2.7 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 348°T at 4.0 kn until 1110, then 212°T at 6.7 kn until 1135.

Give the 1135 DR position as the true bearing FROM Kittle water tank to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
