Dividers: drag from one point to another on the chart

Start a drag on a charted object or buoy and it snaps to it. The readout gives the true bearing (and magnetic, 7°W) from where you start to where you are, and the distance in nautical miles.

Two legs from a 1205 fix: where is the 1330 DR?

At 1205 you fix your position 046°T, 2.0 nm from Heron Point Light. You steer 091°T at 7.4 kn until 1245, then 026°T at 5.4 kn until 1330.

Give the 1330 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
