At 1125 you fix your position 344°T, 1.4 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 019°T at 5.5 kn until 1145, then 205°T at 5.4 kn until 1215.

Give the 1215 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
