At 1155 you fix your position 014°T, 2.0 nm from Kittle water tank. You steer 063°T at 4.7 kn until 1205, then 325°T at 5.7 kn until 1220.

Give the 1220 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
