At 1550 you fix your position 110°T, 2.4 nm from Westfield church spire. You steer 106°T at 9.6 kn until 1610, then 184°T at 8.1 kn until 1625.

Give the 1625 DR position as the true bearing FROM Mill stack to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
