Two hand-bearing compass bearings at 0915: plot the fix.

At 0915 you take two bearings with a hand-bearing compass: Kittle water tank bears 162°M and Mill stack bears 223°M.

Variation is 7°W (from the rose); a hand-bearing compass held away from the boat's steel is taken to have no deviation. Convert to true, plot the two lines of position, and give the fix as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the fix, and the distance.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
